What are your favorite brands and why?

I remember the iconic Warchild UK Help album from 1995, it was my first experience of seeing how musicians can come together (who else remembers the Smokin Mojo Filters?) to use their voices to raise awareness for crucial human issues, like children devastated by war.

To me Warchild’s logo is recognisable and immediately communicates to me everything about the values of the organisation. The stark and direct imagery also tells me what I need to know about the type of advocacy they carry out for children around the world. I suppose that makes the person who designed the artwork good at marketing or brand awareness.
Looking back to 1995 and thinking about today, I could never have imagined that my own work would see me directly supporting children forced to flee their countries because of war, or I’d be working for a charity where I spend so much of my time advocating for children’s rights. I could never have imagined that I’d be in my own band, with my own child, writing songs about peace and protest. So when it came to planning an event to mark the release of our music it felt like the perfect opportunity to partner with Warchild.
That 1995 album really inspired me and I’m honoured that Joker’s Flight will be hosting a record launch event in support of Warchild.
We have a fundraising page set up so you can donate at any stage to this crucial cause, even if you can’t make the gig. Warchild Fundraiser.
