Excerpt from a new short story;

He chuckled, the sound coming out like a harsh bark into the infinite ocean expanse. What a jolly adventure they had had. His family had called everyone from the FBI to Interpol when he and his gran had gone missing. But the funny thing was, when he had made the decision to sell off his grans whole estate and use the proceeds to take her on a cruise around the world, he had never felt more sane.

He couldn’t have foreseen that the ocean liner would sink, that gran would die, and that he would be rowing them both back to England using her coffin as a raft.
