The Outsider
Outside the box
To help he drew a picture of a fox
Before he forgot
What it was like to be on the circle’s fence
Time to repent
Travelling ’cause life depends on it
Putting children in cages, who comes up with this shit
The red car and the blue car had a race but race should have nothing to do with it
The room was hot
Put on the spot
to get out of jail he always relied on nursery rhymes, especially when stuck for the next verse… His Grandfather’s hearse…
“Jack be nimble, Jack be quick.”
If the traffic doesn’t clear soon, he’ll rip out the gear stick.

This poem was inspired by a poetry workshop that I helped to deliver to six fantastic young students this week. I am hoping to write more about the project and on going work in this area in the next few weeks.
