This is a song I wrote last year, I did this basic (and in places a little rough and ready) demo and video for it and I thought I would share it with you.

Let me know what you think?

Instead of a Sigh (and a Frown)

Nine years down the road

And what have we learnt

And what have we stole

And how much do we owe

As you cry into your vat of wine

Please do not entwine

Your hopes and dreams with mine

Because I’ve been here before

I’ve been here before

Nine years down the line

I’ve given all I got

But honey I’ve still got a lot

A lot of stones to throw

In your general direction

So please do not hasten to leave

Hold on brother

We’re almost there

Hey little sister

I can see you there

I wanna live in a world

With a nod and a smile

Instead of a sigh and a frown

Instead of a sigh and a frown

As you stare into your sea of gold

Please do not deny

That years have gone by

It’s really not a crime

It’s just called getting old

Hold on brother

We’re almost there

Hey little sister

I can see you there

I wanna live in a world

With a nod and a smile

Instead of a sigh and a frown

Instead of a sigh and a frown

Sing a song of sixpence

A pocket full of rye

Four and twenty manifestos baked in a lie

And when the lie was open

The world began to sing

We’ve just got a simple wish

To serve before the king

Smile

Smile

Instead of a sigh and a frown

Smile, instead of a sigh and a frown
