Welcome to The World Outside the Window a magazine-style website offering an eclectic mix of the arts, including poetry, fiction, reviews and essays.
The site is edited & managed by John de Gruyther. John is an author, published poet, & songwriter.
Once described as “a site some people read,” this is an unflinchingly accurate description of the website’s popularity.
John has worked with Titan Publishing, Star Trek Magazine, The Guardian, LSG Media, The Citizen, SFX magazine and many more.
His first eBook – Aardvark Tales (published by The World Outside the Window Publishing), is out now.
John’s first poetry collection Poems & Sketches from the Holy County is available to buy in paperback https://amzn.to/2DpD1KX
His poetry has been published in issue one of Howling Press and featured on the poetry site Free Verse Revolution.
John is currently working on a novel about dragons as well as two poetry pamphlets.
The site is dedicated to finding the truth within the lie and the uplifting in the horrific. There is a beautiful world outside the window full of awe if we have the compassion and curiosity to notice it.
John is interested in critically analysing the structures of the states and governments that purportedly look after us.
“The greater the state, the more wrong and cruel its patriotism, and the greater is the sum of suffering upon which its power is founded.” ~ Leo Tolstoy
