Red sky in the morning
Must be some kind of warning
Boko Haram
Taliban
Coalition Government
Rolling news coverage
All making terror everyday
Pound Store warfare
Cannibalism in the valley
Tortured interrogation lurking in the oval
Red sky in the morning
Must be some kind of warning
Don’t want to go to school today
“how old would you be, if you didn’t know how old you were?”
A question echoes from far away
Grapple with an agitated tie-dye sky
The morning strangled by the afternoon to come
Cameron in bed with whoever suits his lies
Red sky in the morning
Must be some kind of warning
Snow in Bristol
Jet planes in the ocean
On the way to unknown seas.
Red sky in the morning
Purple grins a warning
That police states are only a vote away
Immigrants don’t cause traffic jams, cars do,
So open up weary eyes to smell the coffee,
made in tax avoiding fields of blood
What will we learn as the year turns a page
Nothing
An easy word to say
Red sky in the morning
Must be some kind of warning
Frost on the hills
Flowers on the grave
What’s in our power to change
