Who Am I
To some I am a hippy
To some I am a diplomat
To some I am an English lifeguard with a laconic wit
To some I am aloof and unavailable
To some I am passionate and caring
To some I always act the clown
To some I am a child
To some I am a father
To some I am a failure
To some I lose my temper
To some I am a winner
But who am I?
Are these all just roles I have to play?
I am all these things all the time

Everyone will ‘get’ this poem at some time in their life. I don’t believe in coincidences, but I’m just reading Eckhart Tolle’s ‘A New Earth’, and it poses all these questions and helps one to move forward in a kind of Taoist/Zen way. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for this, a great comment. I have always wanted to read ‘A New Earth’ and don’t believe in coincidence either so I guess I better get on and read it now 🙂
