“Purple?” by John de Gruyther
I am sitting in my back garden, under the veranda, enjoying the sun and contemplating making an iced mocha. Before I started work on various writing projects I wanted to share two poems with you.
Unclaimed Cap
My old cap was found
Unclaimed
In a shack in Robert Frost Country
It is worn out
But has served me well
Raindrop Voices (Alternative Opening Verse)
I’m all the things that I’m meant to be
A liar, the joker and a thief
But don’t you know you’re all to be
Then I saw you turn slowly away from everything and in every way
And these are the words that I heard you say
“Raindrop Voices”

Thank you, it is the opening lines to a song I have written that I then adapted into a short poem.
