Do you remember life before the internet?

I had to get you off the line
Before I could call
We didn’t know then, life was better
With dial-up modem
An email was my love letter, carefully typed,
The swirling whistling and cables entwined
We didn’t know then, life was better
With dial-up modem
Mix tapes recorded, cassette in machine,
Labels adorned, hand posted to the sea
Walks to the phone box with phone card in hand,
ten precious minutes, for five scarce pounds,
no instant message, or slide into DM, life was better with dial-up modem.
Ah… the old dial up… but I’m even older than that… we used to have to use cups joined by string! (not really… but… I am old!) Linda 🙂
