Cover art reveal for the debut EP from Joker’s Flight, Maybe Shangri-la.
The title track from the EP deals with the promise of a better world, a “maybe Shangri-La”, with the narrator looking for comfort in uncertainty, in those small quiet places, but is increasingly aware of a world in turmoil.
The lyrics state;
“Maybe it’s all just a human leap too far.”
It reflects the worry that maybe we won’t make it to the peace that is possible. And the next line offers a glimmer of hope.
“Maybe all we need is all our hearts on fire, for peace.”
There is still uncertainty but peace is within our reach, it’s so tantalisingly simple, we just all need to love one another.
The cover art is inspired by the Haight-Ashbury counterculture scene, hopefully giving you an idea of the psychedelic-inflected sounds of love and protest to come.
The EP will initially be available on 12 inch vinyl, and then later released in various different formats. We can’t wait to share the release and pre-order dates very soon.
