“Before the Coffee Gets Cold” completely stole my heart! ❤️
The time-travel premise drew me in, but it was the exploration of destiny, love, and grief that truly captivated me. This book is a poignant reminder that while we can’t change the future, we can change our hearts. Huge shoutout to the translator for capturing the essence of Japanese culture so beautifully! 🇯🇵
It reminded me of Norwegian Wood but the drama that unfolds definitely isn’t paced to feel tragic and I would say this is an excellent book for young teens to explore deep emotional themes in a safe way.
This is part of a series so I can’t wait to sit in that chair of Funiculi Funicula again and be transported to the past (and future!?) and see what happens next to the loveable cast of café dwellers, but I’ll make sure I’m back before the coffee gets cold…
