Welcome to The World Outside the Window a magazine style website featuring articles, interviews and guest posts. The site will publish articles about TV & film, books, poetry and more.

The site is edited and managed by John de Gruyther. He is a lapsed football fan who has played and watched football all his life. He once appeared in an episode of Casualty (he requested that all copies of the episode be destroyed) playing football for Holby City. When neither football or acting fame came calling he took up writing.

John is an author, poet, songwriter and visual artist. His work has appeared in Star Trek Magazine, the Guardian, the BBC and many more.

“An assured and powerful performer who could do well in the slam arena..” – Anna Saunders (CEO of the Cheltenham Poetry Festival).

He has just published his first Children’s story – Aardvark Tales (published by The World Outside the Window Publishing).

John also writes a monthly column for the Citizen newspaper offering advice to victims of crime and raising awareness of victim’s rights.

The World Outside the Window Publishing has just launched a podcast featuring music, interviews and the spoken word. It is a celebration of all things poetical and literary and finally after all these years John has his own theme tune. The World Outside the Podcast – A podcast celebrating the written and spoken word.

thank you for reading and the follow!
Please be aware that my blog is a bilingual one.
So you may get links to some poems in English as well as to some in Italian…
When you do not know the language be patient, just ignore the email, please.
I’m trying to keep the posting balanced between the two languages.
